How to Carve the Perfect Halloween Pumpkin
Choose your pumpkin
Pick a firm pumpkin with a sturdy stalk and a shape that works well for the design you have in mind.
Cut the lid
Carefully cut around the stalk at an angle. This helps prevent the lid from falling inside your pumpkin.
Scoop it out
Remove the seeds and stringy flesh with a large spoon, then scrape the inside where you'll be carving.
Draw your design
Sketch your spooky face or pattern onto the pumpkin before you start cutting.
Start carving
Carefully cut along your design, starting with the smaller details first. Children should always have adult supervision when carving.
Light it up
Add an LED candle or pumpkin light, replace the lid and watch your creation come to life.
